A few words about us

The Beefree Story

In 2005, our family entered the world of gluten/casein (dairy) free to help our son with autism. The benefits have been amazing for him! Like countless others, our son leads a more productive life without gluten and dairy. With the rise in number of people being diagnosed with celiac, autism, ADHD and for so many of us who just want to feel better, removing gluten and dairy is the way to go. However, navigating this world without gluten/dairy is often overwhelming, disappointing and quite expensive. I grew increasingly discouraged each time I purchased something that was dry as cardboard and not at all tasty. Thus the experiments began! With the help of my dear mother (aka head of research and development) the next four years were spent perfecting recipes, creating cookies, cakes and pizza dough that no one could tell were gluten/dairy free. We searched the marketplace for specialty ingredients like powdery fine rice flour and organic coconut flour. We spent hours searching the world wide web for hard to find earth friendly packaging materials and ingredients that would be essential in creating our truly special bakery items. We baked into the wee hours of the night and then again in the wee hours of the morning. We shared our baked goods with everyone with only one request - give us your honest opinion. We took favorite family recipes and converted them to suit not only our new dietary framework but, mostly the satisfaction of discriminating taste buds. When a house full of teenagers (who are not all gluten and dairy free) asks for more we know we have a winner.

Beefree evolved from our desire to bake really good tasting treats for our son - treats that would not interfere with his gluten/dairy free way of life - treats that would let him enjoy the pleasure of being a kid. The thought of my son, or any child, not being able to have cake at a friends' birthday party or pizza at the end of the year football celebration was the fuel for my motivation. With BeeFree, everyone enjoys a delicious treat and no one is left out. Now, after all these years of testing and creating and perfecting, we are ready to share the joy with you, all wrapped up in an earth friendly package. We dare you to tell the difference. Just one bite of our BeeFree fresh baked treats and you'll be a believer.

Hoping you'll choose to eat well and beefree,
